Ok… I’m new to blogging, but I was told that this could be used to sort of relive the experiences in Mexico and to remember the blessings that happened there.
But I’m too tired today.
I just spent a good seven and a half hours with people from the Mexico team. It was the longest lunch I ever had (and it started at 2:30). I just think it is amazing to have a group of people like that.
Some consider the Mexico trip to be ‘tame’ when compared to the other CFC trips. I beg to differ. As a team, we went through a lot. We got moved unexpectedly to another city, we had no foreknowledge of our daily schedule for two weeks, we ‘added’ members, we got robbed. Oh man, so many things.
And today we all got together for lunch and then played at Walmart for hours. We pretty much accomplished nothing. Sure, there was a short period of time when we were serious, but we mostly had fun together. And this is from a group of people that saw each other all day, every day for an entire month. It speaks volumes that we don’t want to kill each other, much less have a really fun time.
And it reminds me of one of the last days of the Mexico trip.
It was 80 minutes, 16 people, a 15 person van and four weeks later. After a super blessing time of sharing planned by the ladies of the group in the van, we thought that it would be fitting to close with a song. I don’t remember which song it was, but after it ended, we sang another (thanks, Adin). And another. And another. Finally, I think Angela got hold of a songbook and we started from song number 1 and kept singing what we knew.
An hour and twenty minutes of spontaneous praise. I don’t know if I’ve felt unity like that before. It can only be a gift from God. I miss the Mexico team
*sigh*
